Not The Best Way To Part Poem by Tex T Sarnie

Not The Best Way To Part

Rating: 5.0

When you discover that I've passed away
don't hold regrets for not saying what should've been said.
I didn't want to become upset seeing you upset
seeing me on my death bed.

And if you decide to visit the garden of remembrance
don't go thinking that you were second best.
Because in life you were the best thing that ever happened to me
and I died happy knowing that I didn't have to see you at rest.

It was bad enough me not being able to say goodbye to you one last time,
but it would have been far worse being there to see you pass away.
I'm sorry I know that's cowardly and selfish of me,
but it was the only way I could get through my final day.
