Oblivious To The Obvious Poem by Tex T Sarnie

Oblivious To The Obvious

How can I possibly get her attention
if I cannot catch her eye?
She has certainly caught my mine,
but all her glances pass me by.

Personally, I feel the chemistry is right
and she would realise that too
if she would only cast her eyes my way.
But how? What must I say and do?

I could dress up as a circus performer
with a red nose and painted face.
But she may think clowns are frightening
and consider me way out of place.

There's definitely an obstruction between us,
and I need to penetrate the invisible barrier.
There must be a solution to my problem
and maybe a red rose could be the answer.

If I just place it in her hand and smile,
and without a word just walk away.
Two days later I will give her two red roses,
but this time I shall wish her a good day.

Three days after that I will give her three roses
and hesitate, to see if she has a question to ask.
If she doesn't I shall smile and wish her good day
and not lose heart, until I complete my task.
