Sunset approaching
riding my horse
past the old cemetery
he suddenly stopped short
Why did you stop,
you crazy nag?
Come, on, let's get
on home
but then I thought I heard
a voice calling my name
There's a place for you
here in this soft earth
said the voice
We've been waiting for you
a long, long time
You have cheated death
too many times and it
is time to give up
and just relax
here with us
You don't understand
this modern world anyway
and it has left you behind
Your memory is fading
and you have forgotten
most of the stories
that you were going to share
on that stupid poetry website
My horse started up then
and began turning in to
the graveyard, but I gave
a jerk on the reins and said
Not yet, Trigger. Let's
mosey on home and
think about this
a little bit more
Cowboy, I love this! Five stars and onto my favorites list!
Good choice! There is always one last poem to publish on this wacky website, that is as ornery as an unrhymed bucking bronco.
nope, you still have miles to go and words to share, my friend... plus we'll just dig you up and spoil your rest cuz we want to hear more of your writings
Well penned poetic expression. Full of hope, wit and positivity. Even death van deceive for we want to live. Beautiful pictures snd beautiful poetry.
Not yet, Trigger. Let's mosey on home and think about this a little bit more---A great poem added to my favorites.

A very fun poem. I have cheated death a few times myself. Keep riding and writing, Cowboy!
