Nothing Works Poem by Edwina Reizer

Nothing Works

I stop and think
I need a drink
to quiet this head of mine.

I need to eat
something sweet
and leave my thoughts behind.

But drink and food
although good
is just another sign

that my busy brain
can't abstain
from writing another line.
