They bloom like blossoms of full spring
when her heart nears my cheek
and I hear the thump
the quickening
the pace of her love for my embrace
and she is all i have ever wanted
all new car smell and old blanket comfort
a new good book to read
before falling asleep
with its cover tucked, unfolded
under my weary ears.
