Ocean Heart Poem by Kate W

Ocean Heart

Rating: 4.5

There's an aching in my bones
A void I cannot fill
Without the sand between my toes
My mind is never still
I need the waves of the ocean
The salt speckled breeze
The seas relentless motion
Lapping at my knees

The same vast expanse
Differs from minute to minute
With every passing glance
Colours pivot
And tides change their course
Their depths unknown
A calm, serene, destructive force

Once caught in its spell
It will never let you be
But this' not some kind of hell
It will set you free
From the daily commotion
The arduous grind
The memories of the ocean
Can appease you mind

You see

I need the waves of the ocean
The salt speckled breeze
The seas relentless motion
Lapping at my knees

A well articulated poem nicely penned with insight. A CALM, SERENE, DESTRUCTIVE FORCE - a line that captures the essence of the poet's conviction. A lovely poem with good rhyme scheme. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
