Octavian Poem by Boghos Artinian

Octavian

The Roman face of Octavian looks so healthy and fit,
Albeit the pallor of marble cannot be hid.
The eyes, the lips, the nose and his ponderous frown
Spell an instant startle should one tug at his gown.
Men with similar features still roam about,
But none is as majestic, and none has his clout.
Thank you curator for the perfect lighting
Of a Roman soldier who had long quit fighting!
