October Days Poem by dave lessard

October Days

October days are lovely
the temperatures are mild
not too hot, not too cold
just perfect for a child.
The mittens still are hid
the earmuffs in a drawer
but now appears a sweater
fall's what a sweater's for.
October days are gentle
not much wind, nor rain
the weather most agreeable
not too rough, no strain.
Pumpkins loafing in a field
leaves of color, drifting
falling from great heights
through the branches, sifting.
October days are treasured
in the memories of years
graced by precious laughter
seen through tender tears.
