COVID19, life form hidden from sight
Existence bringing fear, panic and death
Driving many to their homes
Driving many from work
Driving many to hospitals
There to die isolated, alone
The whole world, your stage
You will not be ignored
Yet, beside bringing fear, bringing light

Thank you for shining light on our land's health
Our disregard for our bodies giving us the gift of life
Our maltreatment of our elders
Our disdain for those we imprison
Our strife betwixt race, class and clan
Our greed creating have not's
Our callous disregard for fellow humans
Our unbridled pollution of our earthly home
Our exceptionalism - "except us"

For bringing that awareness
I thank you
For reminding me of precious loved ones
For opening my eyes to this wonderful home
For reminding me of the joy of life
For reminding me of life's simple blessings
A sunny morning
A colorful sunset
A cleansing rain
A blanketing snow
The ebb and flow of the tides
Waking to my honey
Bringing me to gratitude
Thank you.
