Ode To Milco Poem by Serena Blackinton

Ode To Milco

He was the Romeo to my Juliet
He was the lighter to my cigarette

He was pure love when all I had was hate
He wanted to have the last word in every debate

He extended his hand for me to hold whenever
He put my name on his back to stay with him forever

He was the sober yin to my raging yang
And a big squeezy hug to take away pain

He was complex when I was only simple
He made me smile and show off my dimple

He made me cry and insane with jealousy
But he was my champion and defended me zealously

He was my friend and he was my lover
He was my enemy unlike any other

He was my peace when I was at war
He was my gentleman and opened the door

He challenged me and he got me to ask why
His voice in my ear was like a lullaby

He made me so happy but when we were apart
He lived in a special room deep in my heart

He was adorable and adore him I did
He wasn't perfect and he ran amok like a kid

But he balanced me out and God knows how I loved him
And I know he knew that I thought he was amazing
