Of You Poem by moon dust

Of You

Rating: 4.5

I sit in silence, watching the remains of night fade away
And I think of you
I whisper your name to the morning
No one to hear but the wind, trees, and me
Somehow speaking it out you feel near
I can almost see you, behind my eyes in the grass beside me
And then
With a sudden realization forming steadily in the edges of my mind
Gaining power through my body
A thought so overwhelming
My mind aches, my soul aches...and again I understand
It is today, and you are farther than a million miles from me
Riding on waves of my thoughts from yesterday
And I scream your name to the passing morning
Full of anger, full of sadness
The clouds have pushed the sun away, wind grown cold and fierce
Thrashing the trees, sending chills through me
I swallow back your name
Is it all in my head
I look up at the sun shining down from the bluest sky
Oblivious to the storm which was raging inside of me
The grass comforts me
I lie back and it folds me in waiting arms
The warm ground supports my body as I drift to sleep
And again
I think of you.
