Often Longer To Digest Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Often Longer To Digest

Being aware and staying prepared,
Of the possibilities...
That may be ahead.
Makes the living of life,
Less shocking to live it.

When one's eyes opened wide to see,
What the mind sometimes disagrees.
Done to disbelieve,
A truth.
And impulsively accuses,
Their own eyes of lieing.

Who among the few,
Has yet not done that.
To have had experienced.

Seeing to believe what one sees,
Unexpected and extraordinary.
Will often take one's mind,
Longer to digest the acceptance of it.
With it still left to wonder,
If they should keep what they see...
To attempt the telling,
Of it to someone else.
Or keep to themselves to disbelieve!
