Oh! My Brother Poem by Efren Petalver Carranza

Oh! My Brother

You conquered my heart
Like a song in my head
It keeps repeating
Of what is missing

On that empty chair
Where you used to sit
Is full of memories
To treasure the best

The absence of my mother
To the distance of my father
You brought me love
During my thirst

But now you're gone
In heaven, you rest
In peace, I shall keep
The love you last uttered

For your children's wishes
The dreams you didn't reach
May the good Lord above
Would show them on their feet

Like my youth had travelled
To the road of your last breath
The wisdom you had taught
Now becomes mine to teach

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
We will not know the good deeds and good intentions done by someone until we allow ourselves in the whole picture to see them with us and in memories love remains and treasured.

And.. Death is not what it pains the heart nor does it bleeds the eye, but rather their abssence that separate us from past to future.

'I love you too' was my brothers last word, but guilt is mine that I have not even thanked him for the good deeds and good intentions as his baby brother to look upon me in time of my needs.

The same love that God give his only son that he, who believed in Him, there is life in heaven... He may Rest in Peace.
