Old And Used Poem by Rusty Ed Gibson

Old And Used

Looking in the mirror this morning
didn't recognize who I saw
Some old guy staring back at me
that I didn't know at all

I used to see this strong young man
with muscle and skin all taught
this morning I was looking at
an old guy and an inner-tube he brought

I used to have real long hair
before it moved to my ears
Now I cant hear a blessed thing
but Ill save on shampoo in the coming years

My gear still works real darn good
for all the good it does me now
If I could teach it to catch a fish
It might be worth something somehow

I sit here in this office
growing older by the day
sex used to be something thrown at me
these days I would have to pay

I used to attract the pretty girls
and catch them look my way
Now I just get a look of fear
before they turn and run away

If this sounds like a pity party
just wait till your in my shoes
then you will know just how it feels
to be old and something used.
