American Pride Poem by Rusty Ed Gibson

American Pride

Train loads of history
that make this land great
like the American spirit
that carved its own fate

Many beautiful places
lots of treasures to see
but America's people
are the reason its free

Between places we freed
and justice we restored
we protected the weak
friend to the whole world

When Hope is all we had
and freedom was running thin
Faith pulled us together
and blessed our service men

Its always up to us
when freedom is the prize
We do it with faith, hope and love
and a bit of American pride

Mexico didn't save the world
and France didn't try
Africa couldn't save themselves
and China was on the side

When freedom is in the balance
and lives are at stake
America sends her heroes
and rides in to save the day

We fought in all the jungles
deserts and mine fields
battled in the worlds oceans
for more than a hundred years

Its always up to us
when freedom is to fly
We do it with faith, hope and love
and a bit of American pride

It may not be much to some
but its everything to me
American is the only -can- I am
there is no hyphen in my name

If you don't like America
we don't care much at all
'Were just gonna pray for you
next time that you call'!

Its always up to us
when freedom is to fly
We do it with faith, hope and love
and a bit of American pride
