Old Things Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Old Things

I have an appreciation for things that are old
Like artist's paintings, sturdy furniture, and fashion
These creations of human hearts and hands...
I admired for their longevity and preseved passion

An artist translates thoughts and reality into treasures
Behold how time is transfixed into a lasting moment
An embellished jewel that radiates beyond conception
Never to be dull… always spirited and effervescent

A signed chest of drawers and a hand polished table
Each of which were crafted and built with patience
Constructed to last and serve the needs of a family
Appreciated over generations of loving maintenance

Styles come and go depending on culture and trend
What a person wears is a curious phenomenon...
apparel that is not only design for practical reasons
but layers of fashion that exceed a functional put on

As is sit and ponder…an appreciation of aging things
it gives my constitution a resilient boost of confidence
As an antique I share a few characteristics myself;
a one of a kind with unique style and common sense
