On A Fateful Note Poem by James Darwin Smith II

On A Fateful Note

From Death's feat
Crushing skulls
Laden feet
Upon the mountaintop of death
Sounds of shattering bestowed
To the next evolution
From dust
To creatures stirring
On the behest
Of their newfound affliction

To make things better
They destroy all that they can

Made of bone dust and marrow
Serpentine intentions
All that they have ever known
Abominations to a world
Marred in rancor's perfection

The blood of each victim
All worn as rewards
Trophies for these minions
Doing each deed
For the feeding
Of death's own fateful perversions

Guiding themselves
Into each victims nasal passages
Only to make them explore
Wearing crimson
From all across
The dust of their own
Dubious affliction
Subservient in this insidious cause

Where is hope?
It seems so far away

Life all doomed
At what cost?
So many heavy burdens
Have been forced to be paid
All at once

Where were the heroes?
All trying to find ways to be known
Narcissists they all became
Searching for those
To see their accomplishments
In the name of their own
Egotistical ways

None of this horror
Was never too hard to accomplish
As long as all arrogance was in charge
Costing innocence to whither
Into the decay of man's own doing
And each of their own toxic faults

Who wants to be in this scene?
Spit out any pride
Deny any wrongdoing
And fallow every
Self-proclaimed hero
As you descend yourself
Into each of their own
Most vile of arrogant cause

Be wise
And never let your ego take full control
Or fate will show its ugly truth
And possess the sanctity
Of your treasured soul

Heed my warning
You have all been forewarned

I am the lighter side of death

Wanting all to meet their fate naturally
Doing all for peace and love
When everything is said and done

Stay alive
And fight against all that is wrong

Heed this warning
From the lighter side of death

To all
Live free
Live on strong

Light on
