On Gentle Breeze My Love Shall Sail Poem by ANDREW BLAKEMORE

On Gentle Breeze My Love Shall Sail

Rating: 5.0

I can but reach you in my dreams
The only way to love ir seems
But as I wake to find you gone
Each time I feel I can't go on,
I blow a kiss of feelings true
And hope one day it reaches you
On gentle breeze my love shall sail
Amid the dawning sky so pale.

Please float upon the blossom air
To end this winter of despair
And carry all my wishes far
Across the lands to where you are,
I need you more than words can say
My broken heart does bleed each day
In longing for my one true love
My thoughts shall ride on clouds above.

I call your name but no reply
Then watch the summer slowly die
As leaves begin to turn to gold
The nights again shall feel so cold,
And as they fall with every gust
My hopes will crumble into dust
For when they rest upon the ground
I'll know my love could not be found.

The rhyming couplets serve to intensify the sense of nostalgia in this bitter-sweet poem about loss and longing. Your images are intensely romantic and your poem flows with great ease. So sad. love, Allie ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
