On Handrawn Cards To You Poem by David Jargo

On Handrawn Cards To You

So long you were my true friend;
I held my Love, yet love would not end.
My heart believed what my head did not know;
I told it not, yet in such silence it did grow.

And it lived though watered in fears,
Through night and morning with my tears;
Its very sunlight was only mortal smiles,
Fear and doubt became love's true trials.

And love grew both day and night,
Till love became my only light.
And my soul beheld its shine,
When I knew that You were mine.

And into my garden a secret did hold.
The night had veiled this secret untold;
When came the morning I was glad to see,
My Love outstretched in front of me.
