On Her Bed She Lay Poem by Lily Mosweu

On Her Bed She Lay

Rating: 3.9

On her bed she lay
Gaze fixed on the turmoiled branches outside
Still, vicious, wild & confused
Her heart's native tongue

On her bed she lay
Deep oceans run steady in her eyes
Salt water her pillow drenched
Curled up like an embryo, wishes of going back to day one

On her bed she lay
A re-run of last night's episode
Wishing the pain of feeling away
Where does one find their humanity switch?

She lay on her bed
Heart chiming its way apart
Stringing along her emotions
Drumming louder how stupid she has been
