On Repeat Poem by Paula Glynn

On Repeat

We seem to be going around in circles,
Like a record on repeat,
The same old day plays out,
The same old situation is heavy,
And you hold all the cards,
With that trickery you do so well,
So much so,
That I'm lost in the maze,
And under your hypnotic spell,
I just can't see where we're going,
I can't tell north to west,
It seems to me,
That you're putting me to the test,
With your childish mind games,
Leaving me burning with shame,
But I am not to blame:
YOU are,
You are the one walking around the superstar,
When, in fact,
You don't deserve that title at all,
And I'll just let you trip yourself up,
As you stumble and fall,
Into the abyss that is your destiny.
