Once More Poem by Linda Engwall

Once More

Rating: 5.0

Really is it just a matter of looking at it differently
Finding from one day to the next
I can flip it
Sad and distraught by what happened today

Go to sleep
Toss and turning all night long
Only to find the next day
Starts fresh once more

Slowly I begin again
Trying not to dwell
On what happened before
I let the day tell me what it has in store

Alas the sun is shining
My mood is lifted
Such a difference from the night before

Amazed that it all feels so much better
When I was sure I was done with it all

Ask myself what is the lesson here
Is it always going to be better than the night before?

When I look now I see the new day
Filled with promise
Once more
