One More Chance Poem by Jewel Edwards

One More Chance

Let me show you who I am.
C'mon please.
Take my hand.
All I want.
Is one more chance.

To show you I really am a man.
I can be that perfect guy.
The apple of your eye.

Please just give me one more chance.
I want to mend.
Our broken past.

I love you to the moon and back.
I'm lost.
You're like my map.
I need you for direction.
So I don't fall into.
Booby traps.

Me without you.
Is like oars, but no canoe.
Animals, but no zoo.
Tv without the color.
See we really need eachother.

I'd take a bullet through the heart.
Give my life.
Die and depart.

I'm sorry if I've hurt you.
I really didn't want to.
Now all I know to say.
Is how much I want you back.

Because every passing day.
I regret my foolish acts.
Let me show you who I am.
C'mon please.
Take my hand.
Just give me one.
Yeah.
One more chance.
