I remember the things that we used to do,
the talks, the walks, the dances, the get-aways..
the way that you made me feel good about myself
after I would cry about my insecurities.
I remember the millions of smiles you forced out of me
that I did not know was even there.
You opened my eyes to a whole new perspective of the world
one that is more ideal than the one I lived in....

I know you're gone now but
please,
just one more time,
help me feel alive again.
Help me spread that smile across my face
even when I was secretly upset and sad.
Help me feel that burst of energy
that I used to have every single day
even when you broke away from me.
I am not asking for another try of our previous relationship,
nothing to do with love or the romance,
I just want to hear you say those magical words
that had brightened up my world after our first date.
The ones that kept me smiling for weeks to come..
I really need them now..
