One On One Interactions Poem by Laquory Jones

One On One Interactions

Verse 1:
Sometimes I miss our one on one interactions
I sit by myself looking back when
We were just young comers on the come
Up talking about how we would rise up
Be the voices of the unjust despite of
Who we were it seems now those days are all
But a blur but I'm still trying to place my
Footprints from deep inside of the earth
As I place the grains of sand between
My fingers the heartache & pain of society
Still lingers from deep in the pit of my
Soul, But I'm still trying to find that one
Piece of the gold in the haystack but buried
Underneath of all the coal they always would
Say ' the favored always aimed to be bold'
So as I reach along the centerfolds
Just take a walk with me amid the snow

Verse 2:
Sometimes I miss our one on one interactions
I look to the man in the mirror Just to see any
Clearer as thoughts begins running heavy as I feel
Them beginning their stacking
I run feet but I'm continuing to gain no traction
One time I almost gave up but only for a fraction
The world around us continuing to evolve and
Change the world that we live in
Feeling kind of strange on the edge of nuclear war
Meanwhile Dictators are trying to flex with their swords
So much hate tell me' Will we ever live in one accord?
'How many more bodies does Covid have to take straight
To the morgue? I get it the truth of reality has always
Been too easy to ignore as I watch jaws drop to
The floor but there's a time and place where we have
To take a stand even if life's around you crumpling
And you're struggling to find helping hands
You begin to feel like your feet is stuck in the quicksand
While wondering how to withstand the blunts of attacks

Verse 3:
People would always say 'you are who you attract'
Many times I've felt as if I were in some type of combat
Richie why do this, when you should have of done that?
Sometimes you'll have to fade everything to black
And try to find the ones slipping through the cracks
Because they're the ones that'll always have your back
Help you to remain intact so never forget where you
Came from because the days of yesterday can never
Be undone I just want to be useful to someone become
Someone like the Kings Of Leon, Bob Raczka's 'The art
Of Freedom' life paints the beautifulness of pictures
It's really just how you see them although people can
Leave gaping holes in your life it's all in the way of how
You leave them pouring champagne on the ground
For the fallen might be why I'm always looking down
While I'm walking sometimes it can be all too exhausting

Verse 4:
I'm just here spilling my truth
While spilling my guts to you
Letting a little bit of light shimmer through
I won't lie still the pain simmers (oooh)
Perhaps you're my diamond in the rough
Sometimes I wonder if I'd ever be enough
Is it me that you would ever want?
The sharpest of knives always tends to be blunt
At least you see them upfront
(No frontage) Just trying to make something
Out of nothing, But I must tell you that
Sometimes I miss our one on one interactions
Did you ever make it out of that town
Where nothing ever happened? (Adele)
Where it's always Lights, Camera, Action (Oh Yeah)
Just a young gunner still blazing a trail
Just remember to always do it swell (Very Well)
