One Side Of My Parents Poem by Selina Gurgacz

i'm not allowed to get my learners,
until i get my own car.
not allowed a boyfriend,
until i get a job as a teacher.
they don't give a sh! t whether i go and kill myself,
or whether i die in a car accident,
or any type of accident.
can't do anything without telling them first.
have been told a number of times,
to move out.
but if i go to move out,
they'll tell me not to,
otherwise they won't support me
and they won't talk to me ever.
