One-Thousand Two-Hundred Ninety-Two Characters Of Hope Poem by Nick Rohner

One-Thousand Two-Hundred Ninety-Two Characters Of Hope

I'm to old
And you're too new;
This life of love, will never do.

I cannot condemn this mortal wound,
Or hope for your longing- Soon.

Leave me here.
Let me be.

I'm the the one; the one for me.

Help me break these mortal chains,
Leave me lost and broken, again.
Help me home.
Away from you!
Let me free, to live anew.

Help me on my lonely path:
Set me loose; fulfill my wrath.
Hope for me: that I may see,
The way that life
Is meant to be.

Kick me off this high-rise, here.
Hold me close; don't let me near!
Push me further into this hell.
Take me home-
I hope to drink from your well.

Set me sailing on your course.
Slap my hand, I am too coarse.

Teach me how to love again
Yell to me, 'you're not my man! '

I cannot stand this test of faith.
I cannot hope to stay the same.

I cannot dream.
I dream again.

I hope for love, but settle for this pain.

I am not the one to answer why.
I am not the one to release this goodbye.
I am not the one to hold you near.
I am not the one that is contented here.

I need someone to take my hand.
I need someone to demand:
That I be strong
And true
And right

That I be noble
And forthright.

I need a lady, strong and true.
I need a lady that doesn't lie.
I need a lady that lacks need of an alibi.
I need a lady,
I need you.
