When did the saying to someone 'No! '
Become an invitation to annoy without end?
I can understand why some parents
Have become immuned to listening
To the demands of their children

No longer are requests asked
With courtesy and respect
But a total lack of consideration
Has fast disappeared
From an expectation of getting it heard
Coming with a breath of sincerity

And saying 'no' to anyone today
Gives them rights to say
Why someone is disliked
And that 'no' expressed just might mean
The one saying it has said 'yes'
One too many times!
