One Word Poem by Katherine Bryce

One Word

Why won't you speak,
From the heart,
Instead of,
Ripping mine apart?
There is this one word I vowed,
To never say,
Unless I meant it,
Each and everyday.
And I think I might just,
Use that word on you,
But only if you tell me,
The same word too.
I know it's a lot to ask,
But that word is hard to say,
And that word will change our lives,
Each and everyday.
If there's one last thing to say,
Then it's all true,
Every last word,
I say to you.
