Only A Measure Poem by Zane Lewis

Only A Measure

100 miles may separate us but it's only however you may measure
Something so close to you is something that you treasure

A mile is only a distance and there's so many things it can't show
It doesn't tell you how much I care and it'll never let you know

It can't tell you that I think of you all night and day
It sure won't speak the words that I need to say

It won't tell you Goodmorning or Goodnight
It won't make up with you after a real bad fight

It can't tell you that your beautiful every single day
It doesn't tell you how much I need you in that special way

It can't talk so sweet to you and whisper in your ear
It can't listen and tell you what you need to hear

It can't tell you that I miss you more and more
It can't hold you tight when the rain is in a downpour

But of all the things it can't and will never do
It can do one thing and show how much I care about you

Cause 100 miles is only a measure
And it'll never seperate me from my treasure
