Opportunities Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Opportunities

Opportunities come.
And from no one to be hidden.
Preferences to have them,
Should not be an excuse to use...
For a dismissing what is given.
Since what comes and appears,
Does not meet expectations.
Expectations high to reach.
Although one yet has learned to fly.

That opportunity given to come,
May be the one to lead to others.
To prepare and recognize,
An opportunity for what it is.
Yet too many are unwilling to see,
How a step to make to move forward...
Has first to be experienced.
Before anyone can prove,
They are ready to take leaps.
