Orphans Abandoned Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Orphans Abandoned

Solving the problems,
Takes knowing them to identify.

Images to give them,
Priority to recognize.
May satisfy when paraded.
But kept sustained,
They don't remain.

Acquired competence to have it,
Supported by discipline.
Confidence and knowledge to have.
Has far less glitter.
And eye popping distracting flash.

In these rapidly,
Evolving changing times.
When those lacking,
Of leadership abilities...
And stability to find.
May have the capability,
To offer image and pretentiousness.
Yet nothing else can they offer.
But excuses to make.
Accusations to create.
With fingers to point.
Placing blame on others.
To fault for mistakes...
That fades promises to erase,
And images imitated to be faked.

Left to leave,
The people in desperate need agreeing.
What they seek in their hour,
To lift them up off their knees.
And out of darkness.
Are those images worshipped.

"That sound.
Coming from the people.
Weeping and crying.
Kneeling with their faces.
Placed on the ground.
What has happened?
What on Earth can be that troubling? "

-The economy.
The virus that has caused the pandemic.
The images that symbolizes,
Their feelings of self worth.
And the threat of becoming abandoned.-

"Uh...
Where is the faith they claim to have?
With allowing God,
To intervene.
Solving the problems.
And other mistakes,
They themselves created.
But now regret them made.
Wanting from them to leave the scene."

-Well...
It seems the darkness has prevented,
Their images to symbolize...
No longer to appear before their eyes.-

"Images? "

-Yep!
Those images staged with impressions made.
Long gone to make excuses.
Claiming others were the ones,
That came to take away...
Their delusions.
Leaving them confused,
By all that talk about honesty and truth.
And this...
They will have to live with,
For the rest of their pitiful lives! -

"And...
They actually believe that? "

-Whose on their knees,
Crying and weeping?
As if orphans to have been abandoned.'
