Our Country Poem by Randy McClave

Our Country

Keep people away from their history
Keep their past a forgotten mystery,
Have them believe whatever their leader speak
And have them told what to seek.
Keep the poor and the needy underneath the thumb
Keep the middle and the working class dumb,
Tell them to be patriotic and stern and bold
Then they will be easily controlled.
Soon they will be told what they can read
And what beliefs that they must all heed,
And how they should live their life
Also who can be their husband or their wife.
Let's ban books and their beliefs, but not their guns
Let's make heroes out of their rebellious fathers and sons,
And let's support them when they overthrow their government
And for that act of tyranny they must bring torment.
Then they will stand for a leader
Who nourishes the fallen with lies and who is a pleader,
And he will stand against what a country freedom stood for
Then all liberties will be then tossed out the door.
Let this country be for the greedy and that wealthy
Let other beliefs of everyone else be unhealthy,
In the time of freedom let's quench all sparks
As they stand with Karl Marx.
