Our Heartaches Poem by Edwina Reizer

Our Heartaches

Oh that life would never be
filled with pain and misery,
but life was never meant to be
filled with joy and ecstasy.

I've learned that now and cry my tears.
I learned it in my later years.
All the hopes are replaced with fears
that every emotion that one reveres

escapes so quickly just as it began
and changes all the things you plan.
You hold on tight, as tight as you can.
And as it leaves you never understand.
