Our Place Poem by Lydia Thacker

Our Place

Rating: 5.0

We climb the tree, just you and me,
to our own little house up above
where we can play and laugh all day
and fill our time with love.

Up in our tree, a tea party
with cushions as our chairs,
we sip our drinks with giggles and winks
for no place else compares!

With our tea in the tree,
just Puppy, you, and me,
I could spend forever and a day!

With tales of pirate ships
from your small, sticky lips,
I never ever want to go away.

So we climb our tree, just you and me,
to our own little house in the sky.
We sing a song and the day moves along;
I say goodnight to my not so little guy.

With you on my hip, I tighten my grip
and descend to a world that's far too plain.
I tuck you into bed and kiss your sleepy head
and pray that tomorrow we can do it all again.
