Out In The Streets Poem by Justin Gildow

Out In The Streets

I wonder what's going on
out there
What's going on out there
on the streets
It seems kids aren't safe
Perhaps even being easily
led by the nose of some bad
influences
It seems parents are worried
Which I can't say I blame them
Since they wonder when it'll be
safe to walk the streets in the
city again
And perhaps feel safe
Living here
Being here

Out in the streets
Police and gangs go at it
a lot
Pretty frequently actually
Violence seems to be a number
one in resolving conflicts it
seems
No one has gathered a thought to
perhaps a few moments of peace

In this city
I wonder for the future
And I wonder what it'll become
