Out Of The Tunnel Poem by Daniel Sims

Out Of The Tunnel

A year ago to this very day,
I was lost in fact I dare say,
There was no light at the
end of my tunnel. Just darkness.
Until pop. My bubble bursts,
and a searing light sears through
that bleak cylinder of despair.
And as I walk towards it,
My skin tingles with warmth,
An unfamiliar feeling covers me
With my cheek bones rising.
But it's the cheek bones of one other,
That pulls me out of the tunnel for good,
Your smile captures me and keeps
me walking forever more.
