Outstretched Hands Poem by B B

Outstretched Hands

Adorned in chains
A gift from my parents
Even through the growing pains

Outstretched hands were mine

For they couldn't stand it
The weight held them in place
Each alone and reprimanded
Both losing time's great race

Neither guilty of the crime
forced down and stranded
Until came the time
To me, they were handed

Outstretched hands were mine
