Outward Strife Poem by Lelene Michel

Outward Strife

Too typical moments of wrath between the mother and her daughter’s love interest
They both have pushed the violation button
With words aimed to hurt and destroy all former moments of couple joy
He the stubborn sign; she the sign of a crabby crab
How they push, how they collide- none paying me any mind
With my pleas being ignored she kicks him out the house changing all locks on doors
Neither asking about implications – how this is worrying me and our offspring seed
