Overflowing Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Overflowing

Incredulous.
Is a faith to keep.
That a spreading swamp overflowing.
With corrupted creeps.
Will one day become cleansed.
Fresh and free.
Of fat cats and adoring masked rats.
Allowed to do what they have done.
Publicly in front of everyone.
And witnessed by a witless consciousness.
Unconcerned about their quality of life.
As they are of the thrown crumbs,
Dug from the bottom of the swamp.
Poisoning their beliefs yet listen they do,
To creatures in the swamp.
Promising everyone a life of unending prosperity,
Comes.
While disguising instead their wicked wishes.
To create a civil unrest to bait it.
Leaving swamp dwellers left gleefully.
To legalize their evil misdeeds,
With it advocated to celebrate...
The undoing of a diverse humanity left cursed.
