Palatable

Our sense of taste is not the only way that we humans have to gauge whether something is pleasant, for our hearts and minds might just also tell us when a particular moment is nice
It seems to us that the ways of the world will continue to hold sway over our desire to be liked by and accepted by our fellow man; but does this then mean that we should allow ourselves to be abused and upbraided by others
We think not, for we honestly believe that the term doormat should be used only when referring to the mat on a porch and not of a person's makeup or character
And yet what's palatable to one person might not be tolerable to the countless numbers of other people on this earth; for as everybody knows, we humans have uniquely different personalities
So let's just try to keep our own side of the street clean; and which then means, of course, that we should concentrate mainly on minding our own business and not everybody else's
