Panic Attack Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Panic Attack

Zippy was born into a family
that loved him very much
Instantly he felt protected…
reassured by mom's a nuzzling touch

As he grew he became inquisitive
Trotting… boundaries were crossed
Enchanted by the tall swaying grasses
Suddenly he realized he was lost

Sniffing the air… searching for traces
His contrasting stripes appeared to gyrate
with confusion as he rigidly tensed
He felt a rush of fearful tears accumulate

What could he do… he was alone
Regaining his braveness... he calmed
His trembling legs found firmness
Refocusing… he carefully turned around

Surfacing from a mind-boggling puzzle…
Zippy started to determine east from west
Venturing in reverse of where he had begun
Distance shortened… anguish was suppressed

A vision of comfort was no longer far away…
He heard a familiar whinny as he returned
The brief panic of loneliness was frightening
Be aware, do not stray… is what he learned
