Parents Poem by Dr John Celes

Parents

Be happy with the gifts your parents gave;
Be thankful for the things your parents did;
Be grateful for their sacrifices made;
Be joyful for all things they try to do.

Can you return their love and service done?
Can you repeat the golden words they said?
Can you take care of them in ways they did?
Can you suffer in ways they did for you?

Your parents ate what food remained in pot;
Your parents slept when you had gone to sleep;
Your parents thought of children's needs all first;
Your parents prayed to God to bless children.

Our parents' wisdom, we realised late;
Our parents' struggles, we could not discern;
Our parents' problems, we could not fathom;
Our parents' love was only next to God!
