Parting As Friends Poem by Paul Sebastian

Parting As Friends

Your confession, a sledgehammer of words
Crushed into thousand pieces, my hope
Shattered was I when you bore your soul
Broken, from ashes how am I to arise, cope?

You had been a second nature to me
Like breathing in and breathing out
Much of you had become part of me
How do I separate myself and walk out?

Wallow I will not in self pity
Nor will I beg for your love
I will face the bare reality
Suffer the pain, trust God above

I shall not be judgmental of your decision
Nor will I deprive your peace and freedom
I shall not count the cost of my delusion
Nor state how my life could suffer gloom

Dress my heart in cloth of forgiveness
Understand and accept your predicament
I will not mind my needs but your happiness
Let your soul go free, for your betterment

Let's treasure precious moments together
Remain as friends for rest of our lives
Lift each other up in our moments of prayer
Let's move on, trust God our lives thrive

I pray you will have the gift of wisdom
That God bless every step of your journey
May He bless you with the spirit of freedom
May He heal your soul and body completely
AMEN
