Passerby Poem by Danny The Dreamer Boyd

Passerby

Rating: 4.5

Passerby

I saw the roads all crossed right up ahead,
Confused, I did not know which way to go;
Dead certain though, they all were filled with woe;
It seemed I'd further blood and sweat to shed! —
Alas, I wish I could turn back instead! —
My eyes were dry, my heart aflame, aglow,
My dreams did die, and hope as hardened snow,
And doubts had settled deep inside my head.
All I wanted was to speed through life,
No drama, nor heartbreak, or empty words; —
The simple goals of any passerby! —
I did not sign up for an endless strife,
But joy and woe are damned same-feathered birds;
I came across a crossroads, oh—and I…
