Patient Poem by Ragy Sandid

Patient

What type of patient?
The compliant, the impatient
Or patient researcher
Who searches for answers
To the pay and pain dilemma
That overwhelms

The compliant believes
Everything medical is the cure
They search for answers
Under the guise of an angel
Dressed as human
To return to top of the triangle

The impatient conceives
That time has come to make
Disguised devils demanded on their deeds
With an eye on suspicion
He listens, discredits, then verifies
If all ends well
Devils turn into angels

The researches counts
The steps that every white coated
Human does, with info in hand
Before or after, rest assured
What is being done is what was said
Then lends himself to the hand
That would deal in destiny's end.

The patient caught in limbo
Trained young to believe
Every word that comes out is a symbol
Of what professionals can achieve
Two humans caught in a trap of trust
Pain and hope, angel and devil, saved or lost
