We recall the 2010 WC Final
Octopus Paul declared Spain
As the winner and so it was.
Two and half years he lived
making accurate predictions
became a well known oracle
His bizarre feats- unmatched
by a man, animal or an alien
Will there be another Paul-
to help the betting cartel?
Yes, they would create one
In fact, they have created it
Achilles, the cat, takes over
His predictions and his ways
will be known in a few days.
The days are lively with football fever. My husband is glued to the TV all evening and late in the night! I understand that you are also a football fan! Yes, the world is reeling under a football fever right now. We all are having a carnival with excitement and changing moods of teams and their fans. So far, nobody seems to be interested in such of the cuff predictions. Only pure action on the field does count. Probables have been shown the gate. Football is by far the most popular game in the sporting world and the World Cup fixtures create a frenzy among the fans. Predictions by oracles are much awaited in the final stages say Quarter Final onward. Let us see what is in store for the competing teams in the stadia or in the predictions. I would be interesting to find the predictions vis a vis the final outcome. So far, I have not seen any predictions made.

Rajnish, I so thoroughly enjoyed reading this wonderful poem. But I kept thinking about the demise of poor Paul. After all he did! Hope the same fate doesn't await Achilles. And I hope France wins! My brother gave me a beautiful WC scarf from the last WC. And I want to proudly wear it!
Richard, My Friend, I missed you so much (though the fault was all mine) . The excitement is rising, though, all hype associated with predictions has subsided with favorites bowing out.
