Pay No Heed Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Pay No Heed

Rating: 5.0

Pay no heed

Since ages
We have remained in cages
We have allowed ignorance
To be blessings in disguise

To act blind
And be unkind
Had been the nature of mankind
And never shown inclination to find

Centuries have gone
And we have known
Still everybody does the same
Uttering no one's name

So it is merely lip service
To pretend for such lapses
No one has done anything so far
And we shall also go too far

Even if you decide
And confide within
That you shall follow what is true
The feeling and sentence shall be untrue

We are guided by greed
And pay no heed
It is only when we are threatened
And our doom hastened
