After thirty days work
I got my pay
gave tax
recharged mobile, gave tax
bought data, gave tax
purchased ration, gave tax
went to restaurant, gave tax
bought medicines, gave tax
paid EMI, gave tax
purchased beer bottle, gave tax
paid electricity bill, gave tax
paid landline bill, gave tax
purchased car, gave tax
took petrol, gave tax
went to road, gave tax
crossed toll plaza, gave tax
went to cinema hall, gave tax
and it continued.....
whole month I paid tax, tax and tax
to survive with little comfort
not only me
every citizen paying tax like me
to meet their needs
and the political parties in power
distributing it free to the people
who vote for them
if tax payers raise their finger
they say
you pay tax and forget
we are here to decide
how your money to be spent.

After retirement you pay tax on your pension too. This is a country of taxes and freebies. You pay for the luxurious life of the leaders. Nice write.
