Peep Through Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Peep Through

No use searching in ruins?
They speak about wars and guns
Destruction and defeats
But only about hate

How many people might have lost their lives?
How many families might have been rendered homeless?
The monuments speak about their valor?
Life and sacrifice for honor

I try to read about their wisdom
Was it for real freedom?
Or to safeguard their own kingdom
I shall get answer seldom

Past can’t be considered as milestone?
It is simply a past and by gone
I have to feel no regret for their action
They were the real owner and kept the nation intact

Yes, many were architect of great monuments
Tombs, gardens and palaces really represent
Their sense for art and museums
The beautiful palaces for queens
